Nail Tutorial Colour Contrast

Colour Contrast Dots

Dotting in the month of September

Colour Contrast : The arrangement of opposite elements in a piece to create visual interest, excitement & drama. Example, white vs black, light vs dark.

This nail art plays with a darker shade and neutral shade against a medium tone. I'm experimenting with 3 colour, Red / Yellow / Green.

Things you need:

  1. Poshe Base Coat
  2. Seche Vite Top Coat
  3. Red Nail Polish - Big hair... Big nails
  4. Yellow Nail Polish - Sun-kissed
  5. Green Nail Polish - Be more pacific
  6. Nude nail Polish - That's putting it mild

For Dots:
  1. Pink Dot - Sugar high
  2. Orange Dot - Rouguish red
  3. Green Dot - Jade is the new black
  4. Nude Dot - same as nail polish above
  5. Dotting tools - Small and Large size dots

Here's How:
Step 1 - Clean up your nails with Basic Manicure and apply Base coat after
Step 2 - Apply 2 coats of Red, Yellow, Green & Nude nail polish to nails
Step 3 - Prepare pink & nude dotting nail polish on palette
                      - Using Large dotting tool, start by doting 3 pink dots
Step 4 - Using Small dotting tool, dot on as many small pink dots in the
negative space (space that have not been dotted)
Step 5 - Using Small dotting tool, dot on Nude dots
                      - Layer nude dots onto the pink dots
Step 6&7 - Repeat Step 3-5 for both Orange and Green Nail
Step 8 - Using Step 3-5 onto Nude nail, here use pink/orange/green dots
                      - Mix Small & Large size dotting tool and layer
FInish - Apply Top Coat and you are done!

Contrasting Light vs Dark is the easiest and you can never go wrong with that.
