Nail Tutorial - Gradient

Nail Tutorial - Gradient Nail Art

Let's have fun with gradient...

Alright! Let's get on with 3 colour Gradient Tutorial...

Wait!

I know it looks complicated, don't worry like all art forms, all you need is Practise.

Things you need:
  1. Clear Base Coat & Top Coat (I use Seche Vite Brand, especially for topcoat, it dries real quick)
  2. 3 tones of any colour nail polish (today I'm using purple, light, medium & dark purple)
  3. White Nail Polish
  4. Foundation sponge (I use flat foundation sponge instead of the triangle ones, I find that it's easy with this. You can try both and see which works for you, works fine with both)
  5. Q-tips for cleaning ( Best is to get those pointed Q-tips to get into edges)
  6. Nail polish remover
Here's how:

Preparation - always start with clean manicured nails. Go to my previous blog to learn how to
clean and prep your nails, Basic Home Manicure.
Step 1 - Apply Base Coat to all nails
Step 2 - Apply one coat of white nail polish
Step 3 - Open all 3 Purple nail polishes for fast application.
                   - Bend the foundation sponge into half to create a curve and apply each colour onto the                        sponge creating strips. You might need to go through each strip twice depending on
how thick the nail polish is.
Step 4 - Align the foundation sponge to your nails and roll the sponge over your white painted                        nails
Step 5 - Repeat application to sponge and onto nails Step 3 & 4.
                   - Repeats the process over 2 or 3 times to achieve brighter colours.
*note: it's easier to gain brighter colours when the first layer/previous layer has been                         left 1 min to dry before applying 2nd layers
Step 6 - Dip your Q-tip into nail polish remover and gently remove the unwanted purple nail                           polish at sides of nails
Step 7 - Apply top coat and leave nail to dry.

Congratulations you have done your 3 Colour Gradient Nail!

Extra tips:
  • You could choose to gradient only one nail per hand or a few.
  • Art doesn't need to be balance, so go ahead and play with different chosen nail to apply gradient.
  • Add nail diamonds after applying gradient nail art. Using your top coat as diamond 'glue' and reapply top coat.

Hope you love this tutorial!

Remember to apply Vaseline and top coat to your cuticle every alternate day for a fresher looking nail everyday!!
